Recent Faculty Publication: Essence of Microeconomics

The objective of this book is to present the concept of Microeconomics in layman language and to provide a platform for learning Microeconomics in the Indian context. The main purpose of this book is that it will serve as a fundamental textbook of Microeconomics for all high school and pre- university students who wish to understand the concept of microeconomics in layman language. The core concept of microeconomics has been identified and application of these elements are being elaborated and explained with the help of various examples of Indian as well as the local scenario. This book will fulfill the long-felt need of high school and preuniversity students for a simplified structured textbook on microeconomics in layman language. The authors have a belief that the readers of this book would be benefited by reading this book and will develop a clear understanding of Microeconomics.

Title of the Article:The Quasi Xgamma Distribution with Application in Bladder Cancer Data

Abstract: For the purpose of generalizing or extending an existing probability distribution, incorporation of additional parameter to it is very common in the statistical distribution theory and practice. In fact, in most of the times, such extensions provide better fit to the real life situations compared to the existing ones. In this article, we propose and study a two-parameter probability distribution, called quasi xgamma distribution, as an extension or generalization of xgamma distribution (Sen et al. 2016) for modeling lifetime data. Important distributional properties along with survival characteristics and distributions of order statistics are studied in detail. Method of maximum likelihood and method of moments are proposed and described for parameter estimation. A data generation algorithm is proposed supported by a Monte-Carlo simulation study to describe the mean square errors of estimates for different sample sizes. A bladder cancer survival data is used to illustrate the application and suitability of the proposed distribution as a potential survival model.

Abstract:  Random forest classifier which is mostly used in the era of machine learning with classifiers, which has more accuracy while transmission of the line image processing of the model. The main aim of this paper is to classify mushroom which is safe to eat and poisonous. The process of classifying the edible or poisonous mushrooms is by using the specification or the features and color of the mushroom cap. We have used the Random Forest classifier algorithm with the help confusion matrix we are able training the dataset to identify the required features with the accuracy of 100%.
