National Library Week Celebrations 2021 | November 15 -20, 2021

The National Library Week, established by the Indian Library Association (ILA) in 1968, is celebrated from 14th to 20th November.

To celebrate this week, various programs are being organized to create awareness about the importance of libraries.

Teachers' Day celebration: Essay Writing Competition - 5th September 2021

Teachers' Day is celebrated every year on 5th September to mark the birthday of the country's former President, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

Alliance NDLI Club is organizing an essay writing competition for students on 5th September 2021 to commemorate this occasion.

Topic: “Importance of the teachers in our life”

Mode of submission: Online

Date and Time: 5th September 2021, Between 10:00 am to 02.00 pm

Rules and Guidelines of the Essay Writing Competition:

• The essay should be within 1000 words
• The language will be English only
• The participant should submit the essay in PDF file format only
• Any form of plagiarism will result in disqualification of the essay
• All participants will be awarded a certificate of participation by the NDLI Club
• Names of the winners will be announced on 7th September 2021

Open Education Week: March 1 - 5, 2021

Alliance University NDLI Club observed Open Education Week from March 1-5, 2021. During this period, the library carried out the following activities to create awareness and promote Open Educational Resources among user’s community.

• Regular emails were sent about OER Resources links to faculty members, staff, and students during this week. Also updated the same in Library Blog to reach out the end users.
• Posters of open educational resources are also prepared and pasted on the Library's bulletin board during this week.
• Training program on OER was conducted for all the Library staff.
• During this period, library staff members provided guidance to students on the availability of OER content at NDLI portal.
