Open Education Week: March 1 - 5, 2021

Alliance University NDLI Club observed Open Education Week from March 1-5, 2021. During this period, the library carried out the following activities to create awareness and promote Open Educational Resources among user’s community.

  • Regular emails were sent about OER Resources links to faculty members, staff, and students during this week. Also updated the same in Library Blog to reach out the end users.
  • Posters of open educational resources are also prepared and pasted on the Library's bulletin board during this week.
  • Training program on OER was conducted for all the Library staff.
  • During this period, library staff members provided guidance to students on the availability of OER content at NDLI portal.

OER Commons is a public digital library of open educational resources. Explore, create, and collaborate with educators around the world to improve curriculum.
FOSSEE (Free/Libre and Open-Source Software for Education) project promotes the use of FLOSS tools in academia and research. The main goal of Project OSCAR (Open Source Courseware Animations Repository) is to build a large repository of web-based, interactive animations and simulations, referred to as learning objects (LOs), for teaching and learning concepts in science and technology. These could be useful not only for a classroom environment but also for enabling independent learning and distance education.

pfSense® software is a free, open-source customized distribution of FreeBSD specifically tailored for use as a firewall and router that is entirely managed via web interface. In addition to being a powerful, flexible firewalling and routing platform, it includes a long list of related features and a package system allowing further expandability without adding bloat and potential security vulnerabilities to the base distribution.

CC Search is a tool that allows openly licensed and public domain works to be discovered and used by everyone. Creative Commons, the nonprofit behind CC Search, is the maker of the CC licenses, used over 1.4 billion times to help creators share knowledge and creativity online.
